Health Issues in the Philippines
Date: Monday, Dec. 07, 2009
The Filipinos is serving the world, but how could we serve the world if the Filipinos are dying sick. According to the survey, four out of ten Filipinos has TB. I believe it is true because in our local setting illness like cough and cold is just normal for Filipinos where in fact in other countries it is already a big deal. I remember someone saying that Filipino’s trademark is having the microorganism that causes TB. Some are just lucky to have a strong immune system for not being sick at all, but how about those people who are not lucky enough? They die. I am mostly aware that we have lots of graduates of nursing and medicine, yet there are a lot of Filipinos who die without seeing a doctor. Why? It is because most of our nurses and doctors go abroad. The world needs the Filipinos, but the Philippines also needs the Filipinos. Yes, we have health centers, but how will people get the benefit of it if it is standing there but it doesn’t serve the right purpose for the people. That’s not all! There were five hundred baranggay who shares in one USELESS health center. A multivitamin that is present in some health centers cannot cure any disease! It is not even a medicine. I think the government should plan first before building a health center that does nothing. It is just too impractical to building something which the government cannot sustain. IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY. Also, the government of the Philippines has been campaigning for cheap medicines, but I guess, with what I’ve seen in the Philippine Agenda, it was ineffective. I could say that what we call “cheap medicine” is not cheap since it is said that 40% of Filipinos cannot buy the medicines prescribed to them by their doctors. Our “cheap medicines” is in fact expensive than medicines sold abroad. The only reason that I could think of is MONOPOLY. The Philippines doesn’t have its own Drug Industry which is why it is dependent to international drug dealers. We are being controlled! Everything I have learned is a stress. As a student nurse, I cannot believe that someday, I will have no choice but to face the fact that the Philippines is getting sick. And even if ALL FILIPINOS will become doctors or nurses (which is impossible), the Philippines will never heal given that our system is still the same, dirty.

Dear Diary, I am feeling pressured right now. I need to save a lot of money because Christmas is fast approaching! *sigh* Life is getting tough. Soon, I will be facing a lot of people. I need to be strong, so that I could survive in a society where a lot of things happen. Politics makes me grow crazy!!! Can't we have a good politician once in a while?! T_T Philippines is getting poor and people are suffering even more! It makes me sad that the government buys more GUNS than MEDICINES for the poor! It is just so sad... I really like this picture... It makes me say "aw..." It is nice seeing this pictures! Makes me feel inspired despite all the trouble I am facing. Hopefully, something Good will happen this week. I really hope that things are going to get better! Besides, everything is not over yet. ^-^

About Soujee Otarra

I am not a male, but a female. My real name is not Soujee. It is just the name I use whenever "I'm online". Soujee came from the name of Soujirou Seta. I am one of his fans, and my online friends started calling me Soujee. When I got used to the name, I started using "Soujee" as my online name. Otarra is one of my real names. Don't get it wrong because I am not a Japanese, but a proud Pinoy!
In the real world, I am just a plain human being who loves anime. The first anime that I liked was Sailormoon. Then, I started to draw anime-like figures when I was 8 yrs old. As time passed by, I watched cosplayers on TV, and started to dream to become one. Whenever I watched these cosplayers, I always felt that cosplaying is a great expression for the love of anime. Cosplaying, for me, was like M-A-G-I-C! Cosplay just gives color to my life~ it makes anime world 3D~ tehee :3

Where Everything Started...
I made my first blog at pitas.com when I was 13 years old. It was my first encounter on codes. I started self-studying. I always read tutorials from the internet to educate myself. It was my first blog. My first entries were about my everyday activities. [Yes, it was boring] Until now, I blog. I post things about my life and things that I think would benefit others.
When I reached 14 yrs old, I learned how to use the Adobe Photoshop in our I.T class. It was fun! I read Adobe Photoshop tutorials and started getting involved in graphic design [I just know a few things about it]. At the age of 15, I had a formal education on HTML in our school, Ateneo de Davao University.
Soon, I decided to transfer my blog to diaryland.com because I thought it was more convinient. From anime1861, I changed it to Soujee. I just felt that it was easier for people to remember "soujee" than "anime1861".
